Saanora for Windows: the AI desktop app, now on the Microsoft Store
Saanora is now a free AI desktop app for Windows. Press Alt+Space to summon Mark, your AI assistant, from anywhere — get it on the Microsoft Store.
Until today, Saanora lived in a browser tab. That's a fine place for an AI to live — until the tab is buried behind twelve others, or you're deep in a document and the thought you wanted to ask about evaporates somewhere between Alt+Tab and the address bar. The distance between "I have a question" and "I'm asking it" was always a few clicks too long.
So we closed it. Saanora for Windows is out now on the Microsoft Store: the full Mark experience — answers, research with cited sources, writing, and code — in a native desktop app that's one keystroke away from anything you're doing. Press Alt+Space and Mark appears. That's the whole pitch.
Why an AI desktop app for Windows?
One AI for everything is only half a promise if that AI is far away. The web app is great when Saanora is the thing you're doing; the desktop app is for the other 90% of the day, when Mark should be a sidekick to the thing you're doing. It sits in your system tray, stays out of the way, and shows up instantly when summoned — over your editor, your slides, your spreadsheet, whatever has your attention.
Going native also unlocks things a browser tab simply can't do well:
- A global shortcut — Alt+Space summons Mark from anywhere, no window hunting.
- Native reply notifications — ask something long-running, switch to other work, and the moment Mark replies a notification with a soft chime lets you know, even when the window isn't focused.
- A tray home — close the window and Saanora keeps running quietly, ready for the next summon. Turn on launch at startup and it's already waiting in the tray when Windows boots, without ever opening a window on you.
- Auto-updates — the app keeps itself current in the background. Install once and new features simply arrive.
The full AI assistant on your Windows desktop
This is the full Mark, not a lite shell. Interactive answers work exactly as they do on the web — 3D scenes, charts, diagrams, quizzes, flashcards, live simulations, and properly typeset math render right in the chat, and generated documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) save straight to your Downloads folder as real files.
Temporary chats come along too, ghost mascot included: flip on a temporary chat and the conversation is never saved and never synced — close it and it's gone. And for everything you do want to keep, cross-device sync carries your chats and settings between web, desktop, and mobile, so a conversation you start at your desk is waiting on your phone, with your preferences intact.
Keyboard habits transfer as well. Ctrl+K searches your chats, Ctrl+N starts a new one, Ctrl+B tucks the sidebar away, and Ctrl+R reloads if you ever need it.
Install the AI app from the Microsoft Store
Saanora for Windows ships through the Microsoft Store, which means the two minutes most apps waste simply don't exist. Hit Install on the Store listing and Windows handles the rest — the build is signed and verified by Microsoft, there's no wizard, no license-agreement scroll, no choose-your-folder screens, and updates are taken care of for you. It runs on Windows 10 and 11.
Signing in is a handoff, not a form. Choose Continue with Google and your default browser opens on saanora.com; approve there, and the app signs itself in — no retyping a password into a desktop window. Prefer email and password? That works directly in the app too.
One honest note
This release is Windows-only. macOS is coming soon, and we'll announce it the same way — when it's actually ready, not before. If you're on a Mac today, the web app remains the full experience.
